This week the kids and I made an impromptu trip to Cleveland because we had an opportunity for Alethea to meet two very special people: Nana and Papa. When we snuck in the back door at their house, Nana threw up her hands and said, "Oh, Katie! What a surprise!" She hugged me and then she snatched up the baby. I hope I never forget the happy surprise on her face that day. The visit was wonderful. Papa gave Clay a handsome haircut. Papa praised Clay for his ability to sit still, a high compliment because Papa has cut hair on little boys for at least four decades. Being 85 years old did not prevent Nana from getting on the floor to play toys with the great grandkids. |
This last photo was taken right before the visit was over. Alethea is the tenth great grandchild, but the first to be the fourth generation of one gender - Nana's daughter's daughter's daughter. Alethea is also one of three Ruths in this photo.
