Clay Matthew is baptized into Christ! He became part of God's family on September 22. That same weekend, his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins came to meet Clay and witness such an exciting day in Clay's life.
When I tallied the number of miles traveled by each family member to be here that weekend, the number is roughly 10,400 miles. He is loved.

So Clay got to meet his family that weekend. But the main event was his welcome into God's family through Holy Baptism. Here are the photos from that day. It was a sunny morning and warmed up nicely in the afternoon. Clay wore the silk vest and bow tie that my brothers wore for their baptisms. Daddy and Mommy cried more during the baptism than Clay. Eric wrote a hymn that the congregation sang. We had a cake reception at church and then a ham and potatoes dinner for the family at our house. Football was watched and played in the yard. Welcome to the family, Baby Clay.
